Near the Duomo we can visit the Museo Diocesano, which was founded in 1950. It gathers important paintings by Spinello Aretino, Andrea di Nerio and Bartolomeo della Gatta, besides sacred stuff and a collection of goldsmith’s wares from the Medieval period up to the XVII century.
Before the cathedral there is the Bishop’s Palace of the XIII century, a large part of which was restored on the second half of ‘700. In its interior it preserves frescoes by Teofilo Torri, Salvi Castellucci and Pietro Benvenuti.
Near the Duomo square there is Piazza della Libertà with the City Palace dating back to the half of the XIII century. Even if it was destroyed and rebuilt many times, it still bears great historical artistic importance. It preserves frescoes by Salvi Castellucci and Teofilo Torri.
